How far is Milas-Bodrum Airport from Bodrum?
Car hire in Bodrum is often arranged around Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV), which lies about 35 km north-east of Bodrum town (Wikivoyage gives 35 km, Wikipedia 36 km) and about 16 km south of Milas. TAV Airports Holding runs it together with the State Airports Authority (DHMI). For an airport collection, the airport and meeting point named in the offer decide where you meet the car, not the town name.

Is it worth hiring a car in Bodrum?

- Yalıkavak: on the north-western tip of the peninsula, an 18 km drive from the centre, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's portal goturkiye.com.
- Turgutreis (D-Marin): about 20 km from Bodrum, on the same portal.
Göltürkbükü and Torba Bay are hotel areas of the peninsula. Bitez and Ortakent are close to the centre and next to each other, and Gündoğan lies between Yalıkavak and Türkbükü.
Which day trips can you drive from Bodrum?
Wikivoyage lists these excursions beyond the peninsula:
- Uyku Vadisi: a limestone canyon above the village of Gökçeler, 45 km east of Bodrum.
- Priene, Miletus and Didyma: three Greek ruins on the ridge about 80 km north.
- Kuşadası and Ephesus: Kuşadası lies just beyond that ridge, with Ephesus 20 km further inland.
- Datça: across the Gulf of Gökova, reached by ferry or a long detour via Marmaris.
Kos is 20 km to the southwest and a common day trip, but the rental car does not go with you; see the ferry answer below.
Is driving around Bodrum safe?
UK government travel advice says roads between major cities are generally in excellent condition, but the surface can be poor in remote areas, accidents are common and drivers should take particular care at night.
