Fes has a smaller but real premium list, useful if your trip centres on the imperial cities rather than the coast. Tangier's premium cars suit anyone arriving by ferry from Spain and continuing along the north coast, and Agadir's serve resort stays where a nicer car for a week matters more than the daily rate. None of these five carries as deep a bench as Casablanca, but each has its own list worth checking directly rather than assuming Casablanca is the only option.

Trips that suit a premium car

A premium car earns its price on the longer autoroute runs: Casablanca to Rabat is about an hour, Casablanca to Marrakech about two and a half to three hours, both mostly motorway and comfortable in a bigger, quieter car. From Tangier, the road to Chefchaouen and on to Fes is about two hours to the blue city and doable as a long day from there, better suited to a premium sedan than the winding mountain routes further south. Along the coast, Agadir to Essaouira is about three hours, an easy, scenic drive for a nicer car.

A premium sedan is the wrong tool for the dune pistes near Merzouga or the gravel tracks that branch off Morocco's back roads; low ground clearance and road tyres do not mix with sand. A premium SUV handles a paved mountain pass like the Tizi n'Tichka comfortably, but the insurance on these cars typically excludes off-road driving, so a smooth road is one thing and a piste is another; check the policy before you leave the tarmac.
